Amber James

Amber Yerkey James is the founder and Managing Member of New Beginnings Family Law, where she has devoted her legal career to guiding families through some of life's most challenging transitions. Before becoming an attorney, Amber earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1998 and later completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2000. She received her Juris Doctor from Birmingham School of Law in 2006.

Amber discovered her passion for family law while working in the Jefferson County Domestic Relations Court under Judge Ralph Alton Ferguson Jr. Inspired by the opportunity to help families during difficult times, she established her own law practice in 2006 and rebranded it as New Beginnings Family Law in 2014. Her client-focused approach emphasizes reducing conflict, encouraging healthy co-parenting, and helping families move forward with confidence.
