Nathan T. Natori is a Honolulu, Hawaii attorney and
the founder of Natori Law Office, LLLC. He provides legal counsel to
individuals, property owners, professionals, small businesses, corporations,
nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, financial institutions, and
government entities. His practice focuses on helping clients understand
Hawaii’s distinctive legal requirements, evaluate practical solutions, and make
informed decisions concerning complex business, property, healthcare,
financial, and regulatory matters.
Mr. Natori has practiced law in Hawaii since 1992. He
graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown University
in 1987, where he studied government and history. He earned his Juris Doctor
from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1990 and served as a
Comment Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. He later obtained
a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Graduate
School of Business in 1992. His combined legal and business education
allows him to examine clients’ concerns from both a legal and commercial
perspective.
Before establishing his own practice, Mr. Natori developed
extensive experience at prominent law firms. He clerked with the international
Wall Street firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York City, trained
at Carlsmith Ball in Hawaii, and became a full equity partner at Davis Wright
Tremaine LLP, an international firm with hundreds of attorneys. He also
co-founded Hawaii Law Group LLP, where he served as co-managing partner, before
forming Natori Law Office, LLLC in 2008. This background enables him to
offer the experience associated with a larger law firm while providing the
accessibility and personal attention of a smaller practice.
Throughout his career, Mr. Natori has represented a broad
range of clients, including Hawaii state and county agencies, national and
local corporations, healthcare organizations, financial institutions, small
businesses, and individual families. His experience includes matters involving
real estate transactions and disputes, business formation and governance,
healthcare compliance, construction, financing, debt collection, foreclosure,
land use, public utilities, nonprofit organizations, guardianships, and
probate. He approaches each matter step by step, with an emphasis on timely
communication, practical advice, careful preparation, and cost-conscious
representation.
Mr. Natori has also contributed to Hawaii’s legal profession
and local community. He previously served on the boards of the Hawaii State Bar
Association’s Real Property and Financial Services Section and Business Law
Section. He completed a three-year term on the Hawaii Supreme Court’s
Disciplinary Board. His community involvement has included service on the
boards of Iolani School and the Georgetown Club of Hawaii, as well as
leadership roles with the Iolani Alumni Association and Honolulu Little League.
Recognized for his professional ability and ethical
standards, Mr. Natori holds an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
